Leo Cancer Care’s Marie™ Particle Therapy Solution Wins Prestigious iF Design Award, Thanks to a Successful Collaboration with DCA Design International

Leo Cancer Care was founded with one goal in mind, to be the more human way to deliver Radiation Therapy. In order to achieve this goal, Leo Cancer Care has designed solutions to be compatible with both Particle Therapy and Photon Therapy fixed beams in the upright orientation.

The first product, affectionately named Marie™ after Marie Curie, is compatible with Particle Therapy beams and aims to improve clinical effectiveness through upright patient positioning, increase access to Radiation Therapy by removing the need for large and expensive rotating gantries whilst empowering patients and clinicians to face Radiation Therapy together, eye to eye.

When designing the product Leo Cancer Care knew they needed to find a Design company that could bring their ideas to fruition, as well as ensure that the product was fit for purpose and most importantly provided a comfortable and seamless experience for both patient and clinician. The team Leo Cancer Care decided to collaborate with was DCA Design International.

“This is an incredible achievement for the Leo team. We constantly work to develop devices that not only push the clinical boundaries but also put the patient first. Our goal to become the more human way to treat cancer is all about creating an environment where we can all feel a little more human and less like a patient. DCA are world leaders in design so this partnership has been fantastic from start to finish.”
