Facing the Challenges and Embracing the Opportunities During the Coronavirus Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we live and work across the globe. But whenever there are challenges, there are also opportunities to overcome, grow and adapt for the better.

“Challenges are gifts that force us to search for a new center of gravity. Don't fight them. Just find a new way to stand.”

Oprah Winfrey

Impacts of Coronavirus on Leo Cancer Care

Like many other businesses, our offices were forced to close its doors and all employees were working from home 100% time. Our social interaction with our colleagues was all conducted through a screen or telephone in the form of WhatsApp messages and video calls, rather than a chat in the office over coffee and face to face meetings. We are so glad to be able to utilise our offices again here in the UK and we are enjoying getting back to face to face meetings.

The impact on the movement of goods has affected many businesses, and we are no different, with factories having to close down and longer lead times on deliveries changing timelines and practices. During this time, we have taken the opportunity to review our procurement processes, as well as further build upon our supplier relationships, to ensure that controls are in place, so we order materials at the right time to meet required deadlines.

Before the pandemic Leo Cancer Care were getting ready to exhibit at their first large events across the globe. Due to the pandemic, many large-scale events have had to be cancelled or moved to a later date and there is still no real certainty as to when these events will be able to take place again. Many businesses and organisations are having to look into new virtual solutions.

ASTRO 2020 the Virtual Experience

We are really excited to announce that Leo Cancer Care will be exhibiting at its first ever ASTRO Annual Meeting in October 2020, which will be a completely virtual experience. The event will run from Saturday 24th October to Thursday 29th October, with all resources being available for an additional 30 days.

The virtual event will begin with attendees still arriving outside of the Miami Convention Center, as they would normally, and moving within the venue, this time via a computer or mobile device screen. Leo Cancer Care will not only be exhibiting in the Exhibit Hall but also presenting a 20-minute presentation on the benefits of upright treatment within the Innovation Hub on Monday 26th October, presented by Thomas “Rock” Mackie and Niek Schreuder. We will be launching our new whitepaper on our booth and offering people the chance to register their interest in being one of the first to see a product demo. Our exhibition stand will be manned by members of our team throughout the event and attendees will have the opportunity to interact with us directly via chat functions on the booth.

We will keep you updated on all our ASTRO preparations before and during the event via our website and social media pages, so watch this space. We hope you and your families are all keeping safe and well during this time and we hope to virtually meet many of you at ASTRO 2020.
