UW Health made history as the first institution worldwide to partner with Leo Cancer Care, introducing the delivery of proton therapy in the upright position to Wisconsin. This bold step forward aligns with the vision behind UW Health’s Eastpark Medical Center, a new facility that broke ground on May 17, 2022, marking a new era of advanced patient care.

The new Eastpark Medical Proton Therapy Center will see two rooms, one with a traditional gantry solution, the other featuring the Leo Cancer Care Marie® solution. Displaying a true evolution of proton therapy treatment room configurations. UW Health’s proton therapy program will offer precision radiation treatment that allows for highly targeted treatment of tumors.

Latest News

Marie installed at UW Health

In February 2024, the Leo Cancer Care installation team began installing Marie®, our upright proton therapy solution. The UW Health team plan to initially use this system to conduct research, prior to clinical use.
