Arc Therapy traditionally delivers radiation by rotating the beam around the patient, dynamically adjusting its shape and intensity to increase dose conformity to the target. In particle therapy, rotating the heavy gantry poses challenges.

In an upright position, HumanARC™ will replace beam rotation with smooth patient rotation, an approach that we believe simplifies future particle arc therapy treatments.

For faster future particle therapy treatments

Our patient positioning system continuously rotates at 1rpm similar to a standard c-arm linac. In Proton treatments, the gantry can take time to rotate to deliver the different beam angles. By rotating the lighter object, we believe it will streamline and speed up treatment time in the future.

Simplified approach unlocks continuous rotation in particle arcs

Gantry systems have long delivered precision in particle therapy, but their size and complexity limit the ability to deliver continuous rotation whilst dynamically adjusting the beam.

Leo Cancer Care takes a simpler, patient-centered approach: rotate the patient in an upright position, keep the beam fixed.

This simple shift dramatically reduces system size and complexity, unlocking particle arc therapy in the future by simply rotating the lighter object.
