What is the upright photon alliance?

The Upright Photon Alliance was formed in October 2024. It is a unique research group, its founding members consist of global healthcare providers; Centre Léon Bérard, Cone Health, IHH Healthcare, Mayo Clinic and OncoRay.

This group’s goal is to embark on a new research collaboration covering Leo Cancer Care’s latest upright photon therapy product, dedicated to challenging the norms of conventional radiotherapy for cancer patients worldwide.

What does it mean to be a member?

The members of this Alliance are extraordinary and are brave pioneers who are willing to step outside the norm and explore the idea that maybe things could be done differently without compromising on patient care or treatment accuracy. Maybe it’s good to do things a different way.

They are making a promise to their patients and future patient’s that says they are invested in undertaking groundbreaking research to make sure that the treatment they offer them is person-centred and evidence-based.

Spotlight

Cone Health

Cone Health is one of the founding members of the Upright Photon Alliance which formed in 2024. They started to undertake their installation journey of the Leo Cancer Care Upright Photon therapy solution in 2025 which should be completed in early 2026. They have a strong commitment to this research collaboration and they are very focussed on delivering exceptional value-based care and exploring how this technology will meet the needs of the broader community that they care for.
