Orfit and Leo Cancer Care: Advancing Upright Patient Positioning Together

Leo Cancer Care is excited to welcome our longstanding partner, Orfit Industries, to our booth at ASTRO 2026, where the team will introduce its new regulatory-cleared Head & Neck Backrest for upright radiotherapy.

Developed specifically for use with Leo Cancer Care’s upright radiotherapy systems, the backrest brings Orfit’s extensive experience in patient positioning and immobilization into the upright treatment environment.

Its launch follows a significant process of product development and user-centred design, focused on the needs of both patients and clinical teams. This shared focus is central to our partnership: we both believe that treatment accuracy, clinical workflow and patient experience should be considered together.

Used alongside Orfit’s HP PRO Nanor® masks, the backrest offers clinical teams a range of brain and head and neck immobilization options, including open-face designs. This choice reflects an important principle behind person-centered care, that one size cannot, and should not, fit everyone.

We are grateful for the hard work Orfit has invested in developing this solution and for its continued commitment to the future of upright radiotherapy.

More than a new product

The launch represents more than the arrival of an individual product. It is another important step towards building a comprehensive clinical ecosystem for upright radiotherapy, designed around the people receiving treatment and the professionals delivering it.
